Getting to Know Altec – Jessica Quintanilla

Continuing with our Getting to Know Altec blog series, we’re starting off 2019 getting to know Jessica Quintanilla, Altec’s Director of Professional Services.  Jessica leads the professional services team, which helps customers be as productive as possible by getting the most out of their DocLink solution!

What was your first job?

I worked at a wood shop building the components for custom made wine cabinets.  I really liked wood working, my wood shop teacher in high school was a great guy!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I love San Diego, the weather is awesome!

What do you like best about working at Altec?

Definitely my coworkers and colleagues.  We have a lot of fun, they are all so unusual, entertaining and intelligent!

What is your favorite activity to do outside of work?

Hmmmm….I don’t have a life right now, I have two toddlers, ages 1 and 3!  But I do really like embarking on new adventures in our RV!  We’ve been up and down the California coast, camping in Bolsa Chica, Dana Point, Temecula, and San Felipe to name a few!

What’s the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging thing is juggling priorities.  We always want to make our customers happy and get them what they need when they need it.

What is your favorite thing about your career?

No two work days are the same!  Technology changes so rapidly which I find challenging in a good way.  It helps to keep my brain young.

If you could have a conversation with any person living or deceased, who would it be and why?

I’d like to talk with my grandfather.  He emigrated from Spain and landed in Monterrey, Mexico and was a musician in trio.  I’ve heard stories about him, he had a very interesting life, but I’d love the chance to hear all about it from him.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

I wouldn’t, I hate karaoke!

What makes you laugh the most?

I laugh every day because of my kids, my toddlers do and say the funniest things.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

Honestly, I’d like to sleep!  I have toddlers – enough said!  I have a teething 1 year old, an active 3 year old (and a 24 year old daughter I still worry about!) so we are still in that stage where sleep is at the top of our wish list!

What is your favorite meal?

I love sushi.  So many poki places are popping up, I’m enjoying trying them all.

If you were a super hero, what powers would you have?

I’d really like to fly, I’ve always dreamt of flying, but I’m also clumsy so I’d like to have that power to ensure I don’t fall.

What was the last thing you recorded on TV?

I don’t get to watch much TV with the kids, however I do enjoy the show Mr. Robot.
